Daniele Rielli (born 1982) is a writer, screenwriter and playwright.
He made his fiction debut with Lascia stare la gallina (Bompiani, 2015; then Oscar Mondadori, 2022). He is the author of Storie dal mondo nuovo (Adelphi, 2016) and Odio (Mondadori, 2020; Oscar Mondadori, 2025).
In 2023 his novel Il fuoco invisibile (Rizzoli) was selected among the twelve finalists for the Premio Strega, won the Premio Sandro Onofri awarded by the public libraries of Rome, and was a finalist for the Prix Grand Continent for Best European Novel.
From 22 September 2026 his new novel Lo Stregone is published by Mondadori.
He hosts PDR — Il podcast di Daniele Rielli, one of Italy's most followed cultural podcasts. Since 2024 he has been editorial director of the production company Variante O.
He wrote and directed the documentary Hockeytown (2019) and created the original stories for the television series The Net (Rai Due, 2022) and Brennero (Rai Uno, 2024).
He also wrote Le regole del venerabile, a podcast about Licio Gelli with Francesco Montanari, produced by Lucky Red.
For the theatre he has written Stelle, Il fuoco invisibile and Rivoluzione.
He has contributed to Internazionale, Il Foglio, Domani, la Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, Robinson, Il Venerdì di Repubblica, Vice and Linkiesta.
